Kyoto Otafukuan "Black Bean Salted Daifuku
Black Bean Salt Daifuku, which Matsuko-san said was highly praised.

At the limited-time event store "Kotoichi" in Otsuka Station, we found a Japanese confectionary that was praised highly by Matsuko Deluxe. It is the "Black Bean Salted Daifuku" from Otafuku-an in Kyoto.

Kyoto Otafukuan "Kurozu Salted Daifuku

Kuromame Salted Daifuku" is a soft Shiga Hanyujyu rice cake with black soybeans and a sweet bean paste made from Hokkaido-Tokachi azuki beans wrapped in a fluffy salted daifuku. Each piece is priced at 230 yen (tax included).

The author purchased a "Miyako Daifuku" 3-pack (650 yen), which includes "Kuromame Shio Daifuku (grains-an)" and "Shio Daifuku (koshi-an)". It was a better deal than buying them separately.

Daifuku with Salted Black Beans (Grain An)

When you bite into the "Kuromame Salted Daifuku (Black Bean Salt Daifuku) (Grain An)", you will feel the crisp salty taste and the sweetness of the black beans and azuki beans filling your mouth! This sure is good...!

Your black beans are bumpy.

The thick mochi is soft and fluffy, silky smooth, and glides easily on the tongue. When you bite into it, you can chew it "crispy" but it is also "chunky" and sticky. This texture, which is based on an exquisite balance, is only possible with Shiga Haniue Mochi, which is said to be a luxury item!

And then there is the bean paste filled with plenty of bean jam inside. The salty-sweetness of the bean paste enhances the refined sweetness, and the aftertaste is refreshing.

The salty taste will entice you to take the next bite.

The black soybeans inside the rice cake are so large and impressive that you would think it was New Year's Day! The firm texture and the flavor of the beans are very assertive.

Can you feel the texture of the black beans?

Shio Daifuku (Koshian)

Shio Daifuku (salted rice cake with red bean paste) is a type of salted rice cake that contains no beans at all. You can simply enjoy the taste and texture of the fluffy Shiga Haniue rice cake and smooth Koshi An (sweet bean paste). Even without the bean paste, this is still very tasty!
