◆ "Space food" that can be eaten on the ground
However, it is not really eaten in space, but a product made by the same "freeze-drying method (rapid freezing and drying)" as space food. It is called "Space Food" and is sold by BCC Co., Ltd.I got it at the "Space and Art Exhibition" being held in Roppongi, but it can also be purchased on mail-order sites.
There are five types of lineup: "Okonomiyaki", "Takoyaki", "Chicken rice", "Rice cake (rice cake)", and "Chocolate cake". However, of these, rice cake (rice cake) is the only space food that was actually used on the Space Shuttle!
When I tried it at the En-eating editorial department, there was a lot of variation in the taste, but I was surprised that some of them were insanely delicious! Below, we will introduce them in the order of deliciousness.
● 1st place, rice cake (rice cake)
The only rice cake of the five that was eaten on the Space Shuttle. The plastic container contains 6 square and flat rice cakes and the soybean flour in the pack.
The container is divided into a "water plate" and a "kinako plate", so take out the toys and pour cold water into the water plate.

Ummai !! flour sugar also moderately sweet, so are mixed, and spread the flavor of the savory sum to mouth full at stake in the rice cakes of Motchimochi. The crunchy texture is also an accent. I'm even impressed by the high quality that I didn't think was dry until a while ago. Eating all 6 pieces will make you very full.
● 2nd place, chocolate cake
Except for the texture, the chocolate cake was perfect.
When I take it in my hand, it's really light . It weighs 22g (0.78oz). Is it about one-fifth of a normal cake cut?
When you put it in your mouth, it's " cash ". When I eat a cake, it makes a sound that shouldn't be heard. When it absorbs the water in the mouth and becomes moist, the texture may be similar to "stain chocolate". It is properly divided into a "cream part" and a "sponge part", and I feel that the former is a little more moist.
The bittersweetness and richness of chocolate that slowly melts and spreads while taking in water as you chew, and the elegant sweetness. The taste is as authentic as a toss chocolate cake!
● 3rd place, Takoyaki
Takoyaki is in 3rd place. I imagined that there was a takoyaki-shaped candy, like that ...
When I opened it, it wasn't what I expected! Four freeze-dried takoyaki with a golden brown color that looks more delicious than I imagined came out. The quality of appearance is high!
If you put one on it, it will betray your expectations. The spiciness of ginger, the flavor of the dough peculiar to flour, and the aroma of browned ginger. There is also an octopus inside, and it is not missing as one of the elements that make up takoyaki (other than water)!
As for the octopus, the moment I put it in my mouth, it was hard and dull, but the umami came out enough to chew on the octopus, and I wanted to drink beer insanely.
● 4th place, okonomiyaki
Okonomiyaki came in 4th place, just behind Takoyaki. It looks like a thick rice cracker.
When I tried it, it was hard and dry, but the taste was undeniably okonomiyaki! Ingredients such as cabbage, flour, ginger, sea lettuce, and Worcestershire sauce are used as raw materials, and when you chew them crunchy, the sweet and spicy sauce and ginger taste spreads in your mouth.
The fluffy freshly baked okonomiyaki is delicious, but the hard okonomiyaki that you chew and eat is also ant! You can enjoy it like a snack. Along with takoyaki, this space food is perfect for snacks (?).
● 5th place, chicken rice
Freeze-dried chicken rice using domestic rice. I think it's a product that has different tastes depending on the person. Personally, I thought it would be better for the rice to be moist.
When I opened the bag, it was smooth ... and dry rice came out. As it is seasoned with tomato ketchup, it looks red and has a slightly sweet and sour scent. The ingredients are chicken, green peas, and onions.
The rice stays silky even when you put it in your mouth, and when you chew it, it becomes crunchy and fluffy. If you put a lot of water on your mouth, it will be deprived of water, so it is good to eat it while mogumogu little by little. The taste of tomato ketchup is sure. However, it may be a little difficult to eat ...
The crispy green peas are like snacks and are perfect for beer snacks. The chicken has a crispy, dry texture and gets the moisture in the mouth to give off the umami of the chicken. The ingredients are delicious, but after all the rice is a little disappointing. I thought about putting it back in hot water and eating it, but I didn't feel like that, so I stopped.
