3D Systems of the United States announced the "Chef Jet" series of 3D (three-dimensional) printers that can model sweets that can be actually eaten. You can "print" cake toppings and sweets using flavored ingredients such as chocolate, vanilla, mint, apples, cherries, and watermelons. In the second half of 2014, we plan to release two models, a relatively small desktop version "ChefJet" for single color output and a large version "ChefJet Pro" for full color output. The price is expected to be less than $ 5,000 for the former and less than $ 10,000 for the latter.

The company sees ChefJet as a necessary cookware for bakeries, cake shops, restaurant kitchens, and food-serving event venues. It can be easily operated with software called "Digital Cookbook", and it seems that knowledge such as 3D CAD is not required to use it.

ChefJet for single color can make 8 x 8 x 6 inch (about 20 x 20 x 15 cm) candy. ChefJet Pro, on the other hand, can make 10 x 14 x 8 inch (about 25 x 35 x 20 cm) sweets in full color.

3D Systems is exhibiting ChefJet at the "2014 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2014)", a consumer electronics trade fair held in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, and is holding a tasting of the output candy.
