FamilyMart will begin selling the "Famikara" series of karaage on May 21. The first two products are "Famikara Soy Sauce Flavor supervised by Bungoya" and "Famikara Shio Flavor supervised by Moriyama," both supervised by famous restaurants in Nakatsu, Oita Prefecture. Each is priced at 200 yen for a pack of five.

The soy sauce flavor is supervised by Bungoya, a butcher store with a history of over 40 years. The concept is to create a "soy sauce flavored fried chicken that is perfect as a side dish with rice." It is based on garlic, ginger, and soy sauce, and flavored and accented with sesame oil and chili pepper.

On the other hand, the "Shio Flavor" supervised by Moriyama, which is said to have ignited the karaage boom, is based on the concept of "salt-flavored karaage that is perfect as a side dish or snack. The salt flavor is seasoned with garlic, ginger, and other seasonings, and the thinner batter gives it a crispy texture.

Shio (salt) flavor" supervised by Moriyama is also available.
