1. Take out the inner bag and the dipping sauce from the outer bag. Thaw the dipping sauce by soaking in running water or hot water, and transfer the contents to a buckwheat noodle container.

If it doesn't melt completely, you can defrost it in the microwave.

Place the inner bag on a heatproof plate without opening it and microwave for 2 minutes 30 seconds at 500W.

After heating, remove the bag from the microwave and open it from the slit at the top.

Fill the bag with running water to cool the noodles. Drain water from the hole at the bottom of the bag.

Drain the water from the bag well, and serve in a bowl.

How does microwavable Ibo Noito Gome Chilled Somen taste?

It has a pleasant slippery texture and wheat flavor. It tastes just as good as regular boiled somen noodles.

Toppings include omelet, shiitake mushrooms, shrimp, kamaboko (fish cake), and kinugaya (a type of pea), giving the dish a colorful appearance. The soft and sweet omelet and the shiitake mushrooms that soak up the sweet and spicy flavor are especially pleasing.

Even though it is made by Ibo Noito, one serving of somen noodles costs about 500 yen, which may seem expensive...but the fact that it can be enjoyed without a pot, colander, or hot water is appealing. If you like somen noodles, this is a good candidate for your freezer stock.
