Hokkaido Gyoren x Saki Yoken XO Sauce

XO Sauce is a well-known seasoning combination that originated in Hong Kong. It is characterized by the flavor of dried scallops, dried shrimp, and other dried fish, as well as the spiciness of chili peppers. It is aromatic, brown in color, and slightly thickened.

Hokkaido Gyoren and Sakiyo-ken Original XO Sauce is based on the taste of XO Sauce used in Sakiyo-ken's main store, and is said to have been created to make it easy to enjoy authentic Chinese cuisine at home, using dried scallops from the Sea of Okhotsk, the secret to the delicious flavor of siu-mai.

It is suggested that a teaspoon or so added to fried rice or fish dishes, not to mention stir-fries, which are standard dishes, will give the dish a more flavorful and savory taste. It is also said to be enjoyable on its own or as an accompaniment to rice or sake.
