Aizu Homare's "Chocolat Nigori Sake" and "Strawberry Nigori Sake

Sake has an image of being more difficult to drink than canned chuhai or beer. I found a sweet and lovely "nigori sake" that overturned this image.

Aizu Homare, a sake brewery in Kitakata City, Fukushima Prefecture, sells "Chocolat Nigorizake" and "Strawberry Nigorizake". The stylish labels with chocolate and strawberry designs are the main attraction. I bought them at the supermarket this time, but they are also available at online stores.

Chocolate-nigorizake

This is a combination of sake (nigorizake) and chocolate syrup. With its dark brown appearance and thick mouthfeel, it is more like drinking melted chocolate than sake. The taste is also very rich, with a full-bodied sweetness. It is unique in that it has a slight sake aroma afterwards. If you like chocolates with alcohol, you will love this. The alcohol content is 10%.

If you drink it as is, it is quite thick, so it is better to add milk or soy milk. The result is a mellow chocolate drink for adults. You can also add cinnamon or orange toppings to make it even more fragrant and delicious.

Strawberry Nigori Sake

A combination of sake and strawberry juice (concentrated). The juicy strawberries are gently wrapped in nigorizake for a mellow taste. The elegant sweetness lingers on the tongue for a long time. It is recommended to drink it with soda for a more refreshing taste, or with milk for a milkier taste. The alcohol content is 8%.

The price including tax for a 300ml (10.14us fl oz) bottle is 660 yen for the "Chocolat Nigori Sake" and 550 yen for the "Strawberry Nigori Sake. Both are sweet and easy to drink, so you can enjoy them like sweets as a reward for a hard day's work.
