Iwate Shoeido "Sesame-spliced Dumplings

Shoeido is a long-established confectioner in Iwate. The store's "Gomadori Dango" are extremely delicious, so we would like to introduce them to you.

Shoeido was founded in 1903 in Iwate. It has been making products that are in line with the local climate and culture, such as sweets using mochi (sticky rice cakes).

Their signature product, the "sesame-sururi dango," was also born from the mochi culture of southern Iwate Prefecture. The shop's founder, Mr. Kikuchi, says that he arrived at the idea of putting honey inside the dumpling through trial and error, asking himself, "Is there any other interesting way to make dumplings besides putting sweet bean paste on top of them?
