"Takase Western confectionery" with its main store in Ikebukuro, Tokyo. I enjoyed retro hot cakes and cream soda in the coffee room on the 2nd floor of the Ikebukuro main store.

The shop is about a 2-minute walk from the east exit of Ikebukuro Station. When you go up from the 1st floor to the 2nd floor where bread and pastry are sold, you will be greeted by a showcase with food samples. The inside is large and you can spend a relaxing time away from the hustle and bustle in front of the station.


About 5 minutes after ordering, the cream soda was delivered first. In a transparent glass, bright green soda and bright red cherries are twinkling. Above is vanilla ice cream topping. The price is 600 yen (tax included).


A refreshing sweetness that pops with the carbonic acid of swashwa. The ice cream melts slowly and gradually becomes a mellow taste. It is a mouth after being refreshed while having richness. The cherries are the last fun.


Freshly baked pancakes arrived while enjoying the pleasant stimulation of soda. Served with strawberry jam and butter. The price is 370 yen (tax included).


Two layers of lightly baked dough. It is moist but elastic, and the more you chew it, the more fragrant it spreads. Sprinkle with butter and maple syrup for a blissful taste. The mellow sweetness and richness fill the mouth.

It's nice to have a fashionable shop, but sometimes it's a luxury to spend time at a retro coffee shop. It seems to be good for killing time and meeting in front of the station.
