Lloyd's Chocolate

ROYCE's "Chocolate Board

ROYCE' is a Hokkaido-based chocolate maker. They are well-known for their raw chocolate and potato chip chocolate, but their long-selling chocolate bars are also very tasty!

Lloyds' chocolate boards come in a variety of flavors, including "milk," "black," and "with almonds. Among them, I tried "Creamy Milk," "Bitter with Almonds," and "Rum Raisin," which caught my attention.

Different colors for different flavors.

Creamy Milk

Made of paper and packaged like a parcel. The inside of the package, the wrapping, and the chocolate are all designed with the word "ROYCE'". 432 yen (tax included, same as below).

The chocolate is thicker than most chocolate bars and requires a bit of force to break. However, when you put it in your mouth, it melts smoothly with the heat of your tongue. It has a very mild taste, just as the name "creamy milk" implies. What lingers in the aftertaste is the deep richness of milk blended with cacao. I feel that I have encountered a delicious taste that is one step ahead of milk chocolate.

Bitter with almonds

Bitter chocolate sprinkled with California almonds. This one has a strong cocoa flavor anyway! The crisp bitterness and a hint of sourness dominate the palate. The whole almonds add a savory aroma, creating an exquisite harmony. Recommended for those who do not have a sweet tooth. 486 yen.

The texture of almonds is also good

Rum Raisin

Sultana raisins slowly soaked in rum and scattered over milk chocolate. The raisins are so whole that even if you try to break them according to the lines, they won't break! The soft sweetness of the chocolate is followed by the aroma of mellow rum. I was going to savor it slowly, but it was so delicious that I ate it all at once. 432 yen.

You may think that 400 yen for a single piece of chocolate bar is a bit expensive, but it is well worth it. Check out this chocolate bar that is made with the utmost care.
