"Hokkaido Pumpkin Cake" (248 yen including tax) released by FamilyMart yesterday (October 13). A simple-looking dessert with whipped cream on a bright pumpkin-colored cake.


Pumpkin sweets are increasing in convenience stores as autumn deepens, but chilled cakes may be a little unusual. I was curious, so I tried it!

■ I tried "Hokkaido pumpkin cake"

When you open the lid of the package, a pumpkin cake with a moist texture and a pure white whipped cream that leans against the cake appear on good terms. If you look closely, there is also a sponge-like part at the bottom of the cake.



When I put a fork in it, it had a texture close to that of a mousse. It sinks without resistance.


When you eat it, it looks like a softer and smoother paste than you can imagine. Contrary to the feeling of wanting to taste it carefully, it melts in your mouth quickly and spreads the rich taste of pumpkin in your mouth.


The pumpkin flavor is rich, but the sweetness is modest. The simple taste is as if you are eating steamed pumpkin as it is. While transforming into sweets, it makes you feel that it used to be a vegetable.


The sponge underneath has a moist taste. It does not interfere with the soft texture of the pumpkin part.
