If possible, I want to hibernate during the cold, but I can't do that, so let's eat a warm "pot" to rejuvenate tomorrow! I went to the hot pot specialty store "Yururiya" (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo).
The pot I'm aiming for this time is actually a little strange. It's a "Pakuchi hot pot " topped with "This is it!" From Pakuchi (coriander), which is often used in Thai food!
There are a total of eight types of coriander hotpot, including chicken tomatoes and pork shabu-shabu, which are said to have been added to the menu this season. Among them, this time, I tried "Chicken Harihari Nabe" and "Mutton Continent Nabe" which are especially popular.
● Coriander chicken tension pot
A salt-based soup with plenty of coriander paste mixed with chicken thighs, chicken wings, potatoes with skin, green onions, green onions, and charred green onions and garlic, and finally a pot with a lot of coriander. Slowly heat and simmer.
The soup is mellow and rich with plenty of chicken flavor. Vegetables such as green onions and Chinese cabbage firmly cover the thick soup that traps the flavor of coriander paste, and when you bring it to your mouth, the ethnic flavor of coriander spreads out.
The topping coriander has a crispy texture even when cooked to some extent. Coriander is usually a supporting character that is often added to meat and rice, but on this stage (nabe), he plays the leading role. The chicken also has a convincing presence, and involuntarily a standing ovation!
● Coriander mutton continental pot
A hot pot that combines salt-based soup with a good dashi stock of sheep, vegetables such as potatoes, Chinese cabbage, and green onions, and coriander and lamb. The big difference from the chicken Harihari-nabe is that it is topped with red pepper.
Unlike the mellow chicken harihari-nabe soup, the sheep-nabe soup has a slightly stronger coriander flavor. And the red pepper is effective, and it is refreshing and sharp. Coriander erases the mutton soup, and only the delicious soup stock of the sheep is extracted!
The Japanese mind is when it comes to pots, but the combination of lamb and coriander has an exotic taste. I wonder if the local cuisine prepared by my mother in Mongolia is so delicious. What a selfish delusion also swells.
● I also tried the popular hot pot
At Yururiya, there are (of course) abundant menus other than coriander hot pot. For example, "Ginger Soup Hot Pot" is one of the most popular hot pots on the standard menu.
It is said that you can choose either pork or chicken, so this time I chose pork ribs.
In the pot with ginger sauce in the center, pork ball, pork ball, shredded ginger, and garland chrysanthemum (spinach depending on the season) are combined. The refreshing salty soup with the spiciness of ginger and the bitterness of garland chrysanthemum has a refreshing aftertaste. It goes well with pork that has a lot of melting sweetness and umami!
Another thing I would like to recommend to those who like refreshing food is "Yuzu Sea Bream Hot Pot". This is also a salty soup with mushrooms such as king trumpet and maitake mushrooms, green onions, Chinese cabbage, tofu, and sliced yuzu and splendid sea bream . The colors are very beautiful!
Even before eating, the scent of yuzu is so delicious ...! The scent of citrus fruits is really refreshing and elegant, isn't it? I want to be able to carry out such a wonderful pot.
The plump and firm sea bream is light night but has a rich flavor. The soup with plenty of sea bream, mushrooms, and vegetable dashi is accented with the fresh acidity of yuzu and the slight bitterness of the skin, so you won't get tired of eating it all the time!
By the way, the Yururiya menu also has a lineup of edgy hot pots such as "squid ink hot pot" and " Bulgaria yogurt hot pot". Please find your favorite! I would like to go all the way to conquer all of them.
The store is located on the 2nd floor of Dogenzaka Square Building, 5-18 Maruyama-cho, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo. Closed on Sundays.
The price of the pot I ate this time (for one person) is as follows.
