In mid-August, when summer vacations for schools and businesses are concentrated, there is heavy traffic on the highways for homecoming and sightseeing. By the way, the Tomei Expressway, which is one of the aortas starting from the Tokyo metropolitan area, is expected to be heavily congested over 30km in the downward direction this weekend. If you get caught in a traffic jam, you can't help rushing. Let's move leisurely and safely while taking a break or eating at SA or PA.

If you really have to move during the busy hours of Tomei, why not stop by Calbee's first directly managed store, Calbee Kitchen, which opened in Ebina SA on the down line (from Tokyo to Nagoya). This is because you can enjoy "Potato Chips Sandwich", which is a hamburger with potato chips instead of hamburger, and "Potato Riko", a fried potato with a shrimp flavor only for "Ebina". So, the day after the store opened, I visited and tried potato chips sandwich and potato shrimp.


I ordered the "Calbee Kitchen Set" (650 yen including tax) with potato chips sandwich, potato shrimp and drink. It's hard in the summer when I'm thirsty because my mouth is stuffy with just sandwiches and potatoes.


Today's protagonist, potato chips sandwich. Potato chips are really coming out of the buns. It's not well-behaved, but when I open it, it looks like this. It's a combination of buns, potato chips, cabbage, and cheese that you'll see for the first time in your life.


When I take a quick bite, it tastes like "Are, this may be an ant." The buns with sesame seeds and the nori-flavored potato chips are delicious, and the coleslaw dressing is an accent. Besides, the texture is novel. The combination of plump buns and crisp potato chips creates a feeling of eating that you have never experienced.

When I first heard it, I thought it was an illusion, and when I actually saw it in front of the store, many people pointed to the chips sandwich, but few people bought it, and many people seemed to have the same impression. But I recommend this. Adults can enjoy it even if they eat it, and children who are bored due to traffic jams will be able to recover in one shot.

Next is Poteriko Shrimp. This is absolutely delicious. The fluffy and fluffy potatoes have a firm taste of shrimp. The shrimp brown stripe pattern is also good. General French fries will want ketchup and mustard, but potato shrimp will be crispy as it is.



Last but not least, the coffee I chose in the set was also delicious. It is a coffee with a rich and deep taste that is comparable to specialty stores, and is perfect for awakening drowsiness.
