Valentine's Day in Japan seems to make people feel challenging.

Hamburger + chocolate sauce?
Hamburger + chocolate sauce?

"Chocolate & Honey Mustard Grilled Chicken Burger ", which is a collaboration with Lotte's chocolate brand "Ghana", was released on February 6th at each Lotteria store. The single item price is 390 yen.

Does chocolate go well with burgers? The curious eating editorial department immediately rushed into Lotteria. Along with the rumored "chocolate burger", I will also order "Tsukepote (Ghana milk chocolate) " (340 yen), which is on sale for a limited time, and I will enjoy the full-course meal.

Waiting for less than 5 minutes. You will receive a tray with a "chocolate full course" on it. Looking over it, you'll find a burger, potatoes, drinks, a cup of potatoes, and two silver wraps labeled "Ghana Milk Chocolate Sauce." …Hmm? Two?

Actually, this burger is not originally sandwiched with chocolate sauce, but it is a mechanism to eat the newly introduced "Honey Mustard Grill Chicken Burger" (340 yen separately) with "chocolate sauce" as a topping. I want to eat it. Another chocolate sauce is for pote. It was the same sauce ...

Looking at the sauce doesn't help, so let's eat from the burger. It's a bit ill-mannered, but I took the burger out of the package and licked the buns above. I tried sandwiching the chocolate sauce as shown in the product sample photo. Well then, let's have it!

… Let's be honest. It was better not to sprinkle chocolate sauce !! As expected?

First of all, the chocolate sauce is quite sweet because it uses "Ghana milk chocolate". I feel that the sweetness stands out because it is finished smoothly.

This sweet sauce doesn't go well with lettuce. Surprisingly mismatched with honey mustard sauce. The honey scent that enhances the refreshing spiciness of grain mustard is brilliantly erased. The juicy and thick grilled chicken patties, crispy lettuce, refreshing honey mustard sauce and the burger itself were very delicious , so it was a disappointing taste.

However, while I was eating, I was inspired by the idea, "Isn't this the wrong place to sandwich the chocolate sauce?" If you turn the burger over and put it between the buns below and the chicken, the sweetness of the chocolate sauce and the taste of the chicken will blend well. I will try it at the next opportunity.

On the other hand, tart potatoes are products that you put chocolate sauce in the attached tart cup and eat with potatoes. I've seen the combination of potatoes and chocolate with chocolate-covered potato chips, but this is my first experience with french fries in a chocolate sauce.

Here, the saltiness of the potatoes and the sweetness of the chocolate are well-balanced, and you can eat crispy. The author (who is a bitter) who is not accustomed to milk chocolate gave up on the way and ate it without adding anything. If the sauce was a bit bitter, it might have been delicious.

Finally, eat the excess chocolate sauce with the cup. A dessert that concludes the full course. Although the tart cup is slightly salty, it is almost tasteless, so you can eat it deliciously with plenty of sweet chocolate sauce. The sauce is laid-back, so if you don't turn it upside down, it won't run out of the cup. This was delicious.

Lotteria also sells "Ghana Milk Chocolate Pie" (150 yen) and "Ghana Milk Chocolate Shake" (240 yen) as a collaboration menu with "Ghana". If you combine these, it seems that it will be a full course with a considerably high sugar content. Plenty of junk smell!

The chocolate and honey mustard grilled chicken burger will be on sale until late February, and the other three side menus will be on sale until mid-February. If you are interested, please try it as soon as possible.
