In commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of Mentaiko's "Fukuya" this year (2017), the popsicles that were on sale shortly after the war are back. It is sold as "Alps Popsicle".

This is a nostalgic popsicle made from "Kyushu's carefully selected ingredients" such as Amaou strawberry and Amanatsu. This is a reproduction of the popsicle sold at a store named "Alps" before the founder Toshio Kawahara opened Fukuya.

At that time, it was just after the war, and it was difficult to get things. It is said that children and adults loved the simple sweet popsicles, which are "not luxurious but ingenious" to cool off on a hot summer day.

The flavors are "Amaou" using Amaou strawberry from Yanagawa, Fukuoka Prefecture, "Matcha" using matcha from Yame Yabe Village, Fukuoka Prefecture, and Aso Minami Oguni, Kumamoto Prefecture. "Milk" using "Yamabuki-colored jersey milk" from Sominami Oguni, "Amanatsu" using "Ripe Amanatsu" from Nokonoshima, Fukuoka Prefecture, "Soda" and "Soda" All 6 types including "Azuki".

It doesn't use any sweeteners other than sugar, and it has a handmade taste. It seems that you can enjoy the deliciousness of the material itself.

There are also Fukuya stores in Tokyo (Tokyo Haneda store, Tokyo Hamamatsucho store), but when I inquired, none of them handle Alps popsicles. If you want to buy it, check it out on the official online shopping site for 12 bottles for 2,500 yen (tax included, shipping fee is 756 yen)!

According to Fukuya's official Facebook post, there is a "hidden mentaiko" on the Alps popsicles. It seems that something else is hidden as "a person eating mentaiko", so why not try looking for it while eating?
