The new ice cream " Potato Monaka " released by Marunaga Confectionery. Ice cream made from Hokkaido potatoes, white bean paste, and chocolate coating are combined and wrapped in monaka skin.

I was worried about the taste, but I couldn't meet it, but I finally found it at Ministop near my house the other day. I tried it!

● It looks like a make-in

When you open the package, you will see a long and slender Monaka ice cream. The beige skin, uneven surface, and elongated form are just like " make-in ".


The shape and color are a little different, but it's somewhat similar to Marunaga Confectionery's "Oimomonaka," which I introduced earlier.

● Really potato taste

When it clings to the chewy monaka skin, the trolley and white bean paste overflow from just below and spread sweetly in the mouth. And underneath it is pure white potato ice cream that looks like vanilla ice cream. This really tastes like potatoes !


Since it is ice cream, the richness of the milk comes first, followed by the fluffy potato taste and the faint saltiness. It's like cold potato butter ...?

And finally, the bitterness of the chocolate underneath the ice cream tightens the taste.


You might be a little surprised if you think that ice cream is sweet, but this may be surprisingly (?) Habitual! The saltiness of potato ice cream and the sweetness of white bean paste and chocolate are fused, and the overall conclusion is "sweet and salty ice cream." I think it's a taste you'll never experience, so you may try it once!
