Speaking of Tanabata, somen noodles!

July 7th is Tanabata. It is a romantic day when Orihime and Hikoboshi can meet only once a year. Many people wrote their wishes on strips of paper when they were children and decorated them on bamboo bamboo.

Speaking of such Tanabata event food, "somen". It is said that there was a custom of eating somen noodles during the Tanabata period for 1000 years, hoping for a disease-free life and fulfillment of love. So, this time, I made somen noodles to eat with 3 kinds of jelly that are perfect for Tanabata.

Different taste for each bite

When combined with the jelly of mentsuyu, it has a familiar taste of somen noodles. This orthodox combination makes us feel the arrival of summer.
It's jelly-like, so even if you sip somen vigorously, you can eat it without splashing the juice.

Jelly glitters

When combined with tomato jelly, it changes from Japanese to Italian. The moderate acidity of tomatoes spreads in your mouth. When combined with carrots and cucumbers, it makes you feel as if you are eating pasta salad. It is also recommended to sprinkle with grated cheese if you like.

Refreshing acidity

When combined with soy milk jelly, it tastes like a light Japanese-style carbonara. Because it uses adjusted soymilk, it has a slight sweetness, and even seasoning with salt and pepper does not feel unsatisfactory. You can enjoy a more mellow taste by eating quail eggs together.

Looking up at the night sky

"Tanabata Somen" is like eating somen in the Milky Way, star-shaped vegetables, and glitter jelly on a plate. If you change the jelly for each bite, or combine soy milk x tomato, mentsuyu x soy milk, etc., you can eat until the end without getting tired. Why don't you enjoy Tanabata with your eyes and tongue while looking up at the night sky on July 7th?
