Today (May 10th), Circle K Sunkus has released "Matcha Rich Cheese Tart" (158 yen including tax). Matcha flavor of the blockbuster product "Thick Grilled Cheese Tart" released last year.
A Japanese-style tart that combines Uji matcha with cheese dough. When I tried eating it at the En-eating editorial department, I groaned at the deliciousness beyond my imagination! It's a limited sale for only 2 weeks, so not only cheese tart fans but also matcha lovers may have to eat it !?
◆ Both cheese and matcha are alive
First of all, the moist and rich filling of "cheese x matcha" is insanely delicious. The slightly sour and creamy cheese and the bittersweet matcha flavor are both fully utilized! After feeling the acidity of cheese on the tongue, the bitterness of matcha that slowly melts and the refreshing scent that comes out of the nose.
Actually, it seems that "white bean paste" is added to the filling as a secret ingredient, so maybe this adds mellowness and puts cheese and matcha in the right balance. Even so, I didn't think that cheese and matcha could coexist so much!
◆ Tart dough is moist and crispy
And the tart dough that follows from the thick baked cheese tart is also super delicious. The texture is just between "moist" and "crispy", and the fluffy buttery scent invites the next bite.
Although it has a strong taste and texture, it does not erase the goodness of matcha, which is the main character, but rather enhances it. For a person who loves cheese, butter, and matcha like the author, it's so luxurious that you'll be worried that you won't hit it!
The sale period is until May 23. It is sold at Circle K and Sunkus nationwide. There may be a series of sold-out shops like the thick-baked cheese tart that was first released, so if you are interested, please do so as soon as possible!
