Haagen-Dazs released "Honey & Milk (Yogurt Tailoring) ", the first "yogurt" flavor in 14 years, on April 19th. A new mini cup made by mixing yogurt-flavored milk ice cream with honey sauce.

When I tried eating it at the En-eating editorial department, the balance between the slightly sour ice cream and the melting honey was so good that I ate it as if I were drinking it!

■ Ice is rich but refreshing

The ice cream is made by combining fermented milk (heat sterilized) and milk from the Neku district of Hokkaido to create a rich, rich and mildly sour yogurt flavor. It's milky but not milky, it has a slightly pleasant yogurt acidity, and the sweetness is low. Of course, as usual, the melt-in-the-mouth is super smooth.

■ Honey adds richness and sweetness

The amber-colored honey sauce is evenly mixed throughout without being biased to one place.

The richness and sweetness of honey is strong, but it is very easy to eat because it is chilly and the sourness of yogurt suppresses the unique scent of honey. When you spread the ice cream and sauce together, the sweetness that melts in your mouth and the slight acidity spread in a perfect balance.

By the way, honey seems to have repeated trial production with several varieties. As a result, we have completed a "unique blend" of honey sauce that enhances the flavor of yogurt and firmly insists on the taste of honey itself.

■ "Four years of conception" by the time it is completed

From early spring to summer, when it is still slightly chilly, the taste that the tongue demands is "rich" plus "refreshing". In the past, it was said that ice cream was often combined with sorbet and fruits, but this time he wanted to propose "a different kind of refreshingness" (according to the person in charge of development).

Therefore, it seems that a new honey & milk (yogurt tailoring) was developed based on the popular "frozen yogurt" sold from 2000 to 2003. It took four years to complete the concept. I was particular about it.

It is based on a well-calculated balance of sweetness and sourness, so it seems that people who like sweets and those who like refreshing ice cream can enjoy it on warm or cool days!
