McDonald's recently released " Mac Choco Fries ". This is the first time in the history of McDonald's in Japan that you can eat French fries with "W chocolate sauce".

When I first saw the information, I was like, "What? Seriously? When I first saw the information, I was shocked and a little put off by the idea that it looked so sweet, but when I tried it with trepidation, I found that it was not as sweet as I had expected. However, when I tried it with trepidation, I found that it was not as sweet as I had expected, and the sweetness did not linger, and combined with the salty taste, it had a perfect sweetness.

Perhaps the chocolate sauce is excellent. At first glance, it looks like a combination of bitter brown sauce and sweet white sauce, but surprisingly, the brown sauce is sweet. On the other hand, the white sauce is not too sweet, but light. This balance goes well with the saltiness of the potatoes. In our editorial department, it was popular among both genders, and many people said it was addictive.

However, the price of the single item is 330 yen and only available in M size, making it a bit expensive and not very flexible. You can also get this sauce with the M-size Value Set for an additional 60 yen, but it is sweet and does not feel right as a side to a hamburger.

One day when I was self-consciously thinking that this was a difficult menu item, I found a "chocolate fries combination" at a store in Tokyo. A set of chocolate fries and a S-size drink costs 430 yen. Well, the price is the same if you order it separately, though.

But, I see... I can have it with coffee. This might be a good idea.

I see...
I see...

On the same day, at another store, I found a pop-up that said, "Would you like your fries with your favorite flavor? I found a pop-up that said, "Would you like your fries with your favorite flavor? For 60 yen, the same price as the Value Set, you can buy the sauce.

Come to think of it, the price is set up so that the chocolate sauce (60 yen) is added to the McFries M (250 yen). Does this mean that I can get chocolate fries with the S or L fries or the Happy Set for an additional 60 yen?

Do you ever feel like you don't need a medium size?
Do you ever feel like you don't need a medium size?

When I checked with the PR department, the answer was, "It depends on the store.

In the case of the store that displayed this pop-up, they are also selling the sauce only to customers who purchased fries. For example, if one of the chocolate fries does not have enough sauce, the customer can buy an extra one. On the other hand, in some stores, only the medium size is available. You might be lucky if your local store can handle it.

Both of these are implemented at the discretion of the stores, so the head office did not seem to be aware of it. McDonald's has a surprisingly high degree of freedom, doesn't it?

By the way, if you put all the sauce on your fries at the beginning, you will be left with only salty fries at the end. If you leave about half of the sauce on the fries and put the rest on when the fries are gone, you can enjoy the sweet and salty taste until the end. I realized this after I had almost finished eating.

Anyway, Mac Choco Fries are only available for a limited time. If you're even a little bit curious about it, think you've been cheated and give it a try. Of course, your taste buds may differ, but it's surprisingly good.
