The 808 Cafe (Ya Cafe ) opened in Shinonome, Tokyo in February of this year. The signboard menu is French toast that you can enjoy the "fluffy" texture.

A little less than 15 minutes walk from Exit B of Shinonome Station on the Rinkai Line, there was an 808 cafe in a quiet residential area. By the way, "Shinonome Park" is in front of you. This is a cherry-blossom viewing spot, but ... oh ... what? I don't feel like the cherry blossoms are blooming, but ... maybe it came too early?


Anyway, let's get hungry and go to the cafe first!


Inside the 808 cafe, there are all kinds of cute furniture such as woody tables and chairs, wall decorations and window frames! You can feel the commitment to the comfortable interior.


I sat down and ordered the popular signboard menu "Fuwatoro French Toast". The point here! At the 808 Cafe, you can freely choose the base and toppings to make "made-to-order" French toast !


First, choose the base French toast flavor from "plain," "coconut," and "coffee." Next, you can freely choose toppings such as sauces and fruits (extra charge).

I added honey (50 yen) and mixed berries (150 yen) to the plain base (600 yen).


Freshly baked French toast served in a hot cocotte. Vanilla ice cream is on top. Thick slices of toast are soft enough to be easily cut without a knife, and the inside is thick.

When you put it in your mouth, it melted softly with a sweet aftertaste! It is soaked with plenty of milk and eggs, and the gentle sweetness overflows in your mouth. A harmony of happiness where cold ice cream plays coolly ...!


Add richness with honey and add acidity with mixed berries. If you want to change the taste a little, choose cinnamon. After eating about half, try topping with a combination of crispy flakes and orange peel to accent the texture. The refreshing bitterness of orange peel will refresh your mouth!


After enjoying the sweets, I wanted to drink something, so I ordered the signboard menu "Green Smoothie" (500 yen). It's a smoothie specially made by the shop, which is made by adding 8 kinds of vegetables and 8 kinds of fruits to a soy milk base.


Does it taste like green juice? I think that I strongly feel the citrus flavors such as orange and grapefruit. It has the flavor of green vegetables, but there is almost no bitterness. Easy to drink and delicious!


A cafe like Hidamari where you can enjoy French toast and smoothies with a gentle taste while playing gentle music. It was an oasis-like place that escaped the hustle and bustle of the city.

By the way, when I asked the clerk about the cherry blossom spots I was interested in ... After all, about Shinonome Park in front of me, "It is said that cherry blossoms will bloom for the time being." The cherry blossoms in Tokyo are expected to bloom on the 26th, so maybe it was a little early. I hope it will bloom this week.
