In 2010, Michael Burton and Michiko Nitta, who live in London, UK, started a project called "Algaculture" that uses carbon dioxide contained in human breath to grow algae and feed it. Last year, the symbolic clothing "Algae suit" was released. It is one of the attempts to solve the food shortage in the future.

Algae suits are made of a number of tubes, in which algae are grown. It takes in human exhaled breath from the tube around the mouth and uses it as carbon dioxide required for photosynthesis of algae.

"Alga culture" is an artificial word made from "Algae" and "Agriculture". The purpose is to evolve humans into virtual "photosynthetic" creatures by growing algae on the clothes they wear and eating them to live.

The Algae suit premiered in London in September 2012. At this time, an opera singer wearing an Algae suit sang in front of the audience, absorbed the breath and acted on the algae that had grown (?) To the audience.
