Ginza Tamaya "Gomatamago Pudding
Ginza Tamaya's "Tokyo Tamago Gomatamago" is a classic Tokyo souvenir. It is a confection of black sesame paste and black sesame bean paste wrapped in sponge cake dough and coated with white chocolate.
We discovered its sister product, "Gomatamago Pudding. It is sold at the Ginza Tamaya main store, train and airport kiosks, as well as online. 3 pieces are priced at 830 yen (tax included).
The package has a yellow base with an egg on it. Inside the package is an egg-shaped container. It is about two times larger than an egg.
When you open the container, you will find a foldable spoon, which you might expect to be a pudding. It is nice that it comes with a spoon, isn't it? It makes a great souvenir.
The pudding is made from eggs and milk, with cream and honey added. It is very smooth and mild. When you put it on your tongue, the deep richness spreads gradually. It is simple, but has a rich taste that is different from homemade pudding.
What is in the bottom is not caramel but black sesame paste. The black sesame paste is at the bottom of the pudding, and the aroma of the black sesame paste is mixed with the rich pudding. The flavor is deepened and it's extremely delicious!
