A pudding specialty store that you want to stop by while exploring Asakusa. Introducing "Asakusa Silk Pudding".
The shop is near Kaminarimon. The showcase is lined with puddings of various flavors. This time, I bought "Asakusa Silk Pudding", "Premium Silk Pudding", "Matcha Pudding" and "Strawberry Pudding".
Asakusa silk pudding is a pudding that uses strong milk and Okukyu eggs. It is heated in a steam convection oven adjusted in 1 degree increments, and cooled in a short time in a dedicated refrigerator to confine the deliciousness. The price is 390 yen (tax included, same below).
Pay attention to the jar before eating. The scenery where a rickshaw like Asakusa runs is designed. There is also a large lantern of Kaminarimon on the back side!
A spoon that goes in smoothly without any resistance. The trolley is soft and has a silky mouthfeel. It melts smoothly, leaving only the deep richness of the egg and milk.
At the bottom is a bitter caramel. The best balance is the slight bitterness and the mellow sweetness of pudding. It is a light taste that is rich but not dull.
"Premium Silk Pudding" is a richer silk pudding. It uses twice as much vanilla beans as silk pudding and "egg yolk only" from Okukuji egg. The price is 580 yen.
Dense mouthfeel with a hint of elasticity in the smoothness. Compared to the melting silk pudding, this one feels entwined with the tongue. You can fully enjoy the rich flavor of egg yolk as you stay in the mouth for a long time. A soft, fragrant vanilla and sweet aftertaste.
Nishio's matcha is used for "Matcha pudding" (390 yen). The rich flavor that is comparable to eggs spreads at once. There is plenty of matcha on the bottom, which gives it a nice astringent accent.
"Strawberry pudding" (390 yen), which is popular regardless of the season, is like strawberry milk. The fruity sweetness is followed by a mellow richness, and finally a mild acidity is felt. Milky and somehow nostalgic taste.
In addition to the ones introduced, we also have a lineup of "black sesame", "raw caramel" and "coffee" pudding. Seasonal flavors will also be available, so check them out as well!
