Local Ice Cream from Ise, Mie Prefecture: Mifuku Mochi Honke "Ofuku Ice Cream Mac" - Simple but addictive! Salty and elegant melt-in-your-mouth

Mifuku Rice Cake Shop in Ise City, Mie Prefecture

Mifuku Mochi Honke, located in Ise City, Mie Prefecture, is a Japanese sweets store with a long history dating back to 1738.

The store started selling "Ofuku Ice Cream Mac" in 1949. The name "Mac" comes from the first letter of "Merchant Adzuki Beans Candy" (MAC), and it is a unique name that you cannot forget once you hear it.

Ofuku Ice Cream Mac

Koshian ice cream made with simple ingredients: sugar, Japanese azuki beans, starch, and salt. When you take it out of the package, you will see a stick stuck diagonally in the middle.

original

The cool ice cream has a pleasant crunchy texture. The heat from your tongue turns it into a silky liquid, and it disappears, leaving behind the rich flavor of azuki beans. Even though it is a popsicle, it is amazing to be able to enjoy the smooth texture peculiar to Koshian!

It has a refreshing taste with an elegant sweetness. It is not light in taste, however, and is filled with the mild flavor of azuki beans. The simplicity of the taste makes you want to eat as many as possible.

Looks good with Japanese tea.

This time we got it at a supermarket fair, but you can also buy it from the online store of the Mifuku mochi head family (delivery is not available in some areas). Check out their long-selling Koshian ice cream!
