Meiji Price Revision

Meiji announced that it will implement price revisions for yogurt, protein drinks and beverages, home-delivery-only products, cheese for home use, butter and oils for home use, sports nutrition (powdered protein, bars), and jelly beverages from April 1, 2023 for shipments and orders, and for infant formula and nutritional foods (liquid diet) from May 1, 2023 for orders. The company announced that it will implement price revisions for infant formula and nutritional foods (liquid diets) starting from May 1, 2023.

Prices of raw materials such as overseas dairy ingredients and fats and oils continue to rise due to global demand expansion and other factors. In addition, distribution costs and packaging material prices have increased due to soaring crude oil prices, while energy costs and other expenses have remained high.

In addition, the cost of milk production has been rising due to the soaring price of feedstuffs and other factors, and domestic milk producers are facing difficult business conditions. Against this backdrop, Meiji has agreed with designated national milk producers' organizations to raise the transaction price of raw milk for dairy products from April 1, 2023, in order to improve the business conditions of domestic raw milk producers, maintain the raw milk production base, and ensure a stable supply of milk and dairy products in the future.

Although various measures have been taken to absorb these cost increases, it has become difficult to continue sales at the current prices, and the following price revisions will be implemented for the following product groups.

(3) Home delivery only products 23 products, for shipment on April 1, 2023
(4) Cheese for home use 33 products, for shipment on April 1, 2023
(5) Butter and oils for home use 9 products, for shipment on April 1, 2023
(6) Sports nutrition (powdered protein, bars) 9 products; orders received April 1, 2023 (bars to be released April 24)
(7) Jelly beverages 4 products; orders received April 1, 2023
(8) Infant formula 16 products; orders received May 1, 2023
