The "Single Origin Cacao Mocha" is a collaboration drink with the chocolate brand "xocol". The drink is a combination of Blue Bottle Coffee Cafe's popular espresso, homemade chocolate syrup, and steamed milk. Both hot and iced versions will be available for a limited time and in limited quantities.
Depending on the time of sale, different single-origin cacao from Chocol will be used: "Dominican Conacado" to be released on January 27, "Ugandan Artisans Farm" to be released on February 11, and "Peruvian Piura Blanco" to be released on February 25. The price is 756 yen for To go (tax included, same below), 770 yen for eat-in. Blue Bottle Coffee Chocolate Coins Dominica Conacado & Uganda Artisans Farm" is a limited edition package of chocolate coins from Shokol, available only at Blue Bottle Coffee.
Of the two flavors, the Dominican Conacado has flavors like almond, macadamia, cocoa, and honey. The Ugandan Artisan's Farm has flavors of pineapple, kiwi and banana. The beans are grown in the foothills of the fertile Rwenzori Mountains, also known as the Mountains of the Moon, just below the equator, and are said to be nutty and earthy. It is harvested from an area of 14 farmers in northern Peru and is known for its white color and delicate flavors.
