Fill with water to keep butter flavor and freshness

The butter bell was invented in 19th century France. Created at a time when refrigerators were not widely available, the butter bell is a cup-shaped ceramic vessel with a lid that allows butter to be placed in a cylindrical container inside the lid. Since it is sealed in the water in the vessel and not exposed to oxygen, it does not deteriorate, keeping the flavor and freshness of the butter.

It is very simple to use. Simply fill the container 1/3 full with cold water, place 1/2 cup (about 100 g) of butter in the lid, press the butter into the lid to release the air inside, and return the lid to the container. Made of high-quality, durable ceramics, it is dishwasher and microwave safe.
