I tried Matsuya's "Miso-zuke Tonteki Don" as a To go. An overwhelming amount of meat using 2 pieces of pork loin is a highly satisfying dish. However, it was a surprisingly refreshing aftertaste.
The selling price is 730 yen (tax included). It comes with kimchi or tororo as a small bowl of the set, but this time it is kimchi. The menu is made with Matsuya's special miso sauce, which is a re-appearance of Tonteki, which was previously popular as "meaty".
The pork loin soaked in miso is juicy baked on an iron plate and placed on rice. When you order To go, it will be delivered in a rectangular container that is different from beef rice. Since it is grilled on an iron plate, it takes a little longer than beef rice, so if you do not want to wait, advance reservation is recommended.
When you open the lid and look at it, you will be overwhelmed by the amount of meat. When I tried to move it for the first time in a bowl for one person, Tonteki seemed to overflow from the edge. Pork loin has already been cut into bite-sized pieces and can be enjoyed with just chopsticks.
Matsuya is characterized by the tenderness of the meat, but because it is soaked in miso, it is tight and chewy. It's not the hardness that makes it hard to bite off, but the meatiness that you can feel.
The seasoning is still strong. There is a considerable amount of rice in a regular serving, but if you are confident in your stomach, you may want to make it a "large serving". The rice goes on and on, so if you inadvertently run out of small bowls of the set.
The sesame seeds sprinkled on the meat soaked in the umami of miso and the chopped seaweed squeezed underneath go well with each other, creating a "Japanese" atmosphere.
The volume is more than enough with 2 pieces of pork loin and plenty of rice, but the fat of the meat is not so strong, so it has a surprisingly refreshing aftertaste. It was a perfect menu for the hot summer season when you want to be cheerful.
