Simple Recipe for "Beef Stew" in a Rice Cooker♪
Beef tendon stew" has an image of being difficult because it needs to be simmered for a long time and you have to keep an eye on it. In fact, it can be easily made using a rice cooker! Here is the recipe.Ingredients
400 g beef tendon300 g radish
1 or 2 green part of spring onion (for pre-boiling)
5 tablespoons sake
5 tablespoons mirin (sweet cooking rice wine)
5 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon sugar
400 ml water
Directions
Wash beef tendon in cold water and boil in a pot with green onion for 15 minutes. When finished, drain off the water and rinse again. This is a bit tedious, but it removes the smell and reduces the greasiness of the meat.Cut daikon radish into bite-size pieces (or beef tendon if large).
Put the beef, daikon, water, and seasonings into the rice cooker and turn on the rice cooker in normal mode.
When cooked, it is ready to serve. Serve on a plate, topped with chopped green onions or other toppings as desired.
How does it taste?
The fatty meat is plump and the lean meat is pleasantly crispy. Every time you bite into it, the rich umami of the beef seeps out, making a delicious beef tenderloin stew that could easily be served at an izakaya!
The seasoning is sweet and spicy, but not too sweet or too salty. It enhances the umami of the lean meat and the sweetness of the fat.
The daikon radish, too, is deliciously seasoned to the core while retaining just the right texture! Juicy and refreshing, perfect for alternating with the satisfying beef tendon.
This easy beef tendon stew is perfect not only as a snack, but also as a side dish with rice. The seasonings are simple, so try it on days when you want to get into the spirit of drinking at home or when you find inexpensive beef tendon meat!
