Furano Melon Castella" is a melon flavor of "Castella," one of the soul foods of the people of Hokkaido. Because Furano melon juice is used, it has a subtler reddish color than the Castella. Flour, sugar, and chicken eggs from the northern land of Hokkaido are used.



As soon as you open the package, the sweet aroma of melon spreads! The dough is slightly firm and has a crunchy texture typical of candy that seems to absorb the moisture in the mouth. The melon flavor, which is not noticeable while chewing but intensifies momentarily after swallowing, is a nice accent.



We contacted the manufacturer, Shimakawa Seika, and learned that unlike the "Milk Castella," the "Furano Melon Castella" is made to order for other companies, so shipments are irregular. You may be a little lucky if you can find it.
