If you want to eat breakfast in Kamakura, you can't miss "Breakfast Cobakaba". It is a 5-minute walk from Kamakura Station and is located along Prefectural Route 21.


Cobakaba, a breakfast shop that changed from "Kobayashi Kaban store" in 2017 (convinced by the store name!). The restaurant, which is said to be a restaurant that started with an ordinary family, is so popular that it fills up from the morning even on weekdays! It is loved by tourists and locals.

When you enter the store, order and pay at the counter first. The menu includes bread sets, rice set meals, and donuts. This time, I ordered the "Aji set meal" (980 yen) from the rice set meal. Get a number tag and take a seat at the counter.


Today's breakfast horse mackerel set meal that appeared soon. Five-grain rice, dried horse mackerel from Kagoshima, seasonal miso soup, small bowls, pickles, and tea are included. Water and soy sauce are self-service.


Plump and thick horse mackerel with raw vegetables. It loosens and exudes to the extent that the umami of juicy fat bites. If you chew it with spicy grated daikon radish, it will be excellent again.



The small bowl is a simmered dried daikon, shiitake mushroom, carrot, and chikuwa. It has a gentle taste with a scent of dashi stock.


The miso soup is very rich and super delicious! Handmade miso made from wheat is used for the miso, and the mellow sweetness and richness gently wraps the vegetables such as lotus root, sweet potato, green onion, shimeji mushroom, and burdock.

Really, all of these are side dishes that the rice goes on!


I stretched out my chopsticks here and there, and while hitting my tongue, I concentrated on flattening the horse mackerel set meal. In a busy morning, you may end up with only simple things, or you may eat while reading the news on your smartphone, and it may be difficult to face breakfast so seriously.
