With the opening of the Hokuriku Shinkansen, Toyama Prefecture has become a more familiar place than ever from Tokyo. In this land full of beautiful nature such as mountains and countryside, which is just written as "a prefecture rich in mountains", it is important to remember that it faces the Sea of Japan as well as rice and vegetables. In other words, it is a prefecture where you can get abundant mountain and seafood. What a blessing ... For a person like me who likes to eat more than anything else, I envy him!

By the way, the other day I visited Toyama Prefecture for the first time, and as soon as I set foot in the prefecture, I would like to introduce you to the exquisite local gourmet that I fell in love with Toyama in less than an hour.

That is here. It is a "white shrimp tendon" using the seafood "white shrimp" grown in Toyama Bay!

Shiroebi-tendon is a bowl of rice topped with "Shiroebi-ten," which is a crisp fried white shrimp that is a specialty of Toyama. It is one of the local gourmet foods that I definitely wanted to eat during my stay in Toyama, but it is said that it is offered at "Shiroebi-tei" in the facility "Kitokito Market Toya Marche" that is directly connected to Toyama Station. So, I decided to visit Toyama as soon as I landed.

Since it was just lunchtime, there were already about 5 customers lined up outside the store. However, about half of the audience seats in the store are counters, so the rotation is fast, and I was guided inside in about 10 minutes after waiting.

The white shrimp tendon that was brought to the clerk shortly after the meal ticket purchased at the entrance was handed over to the clerk. As it is a set meal, in addition to bowls and pickles, an extra "white shrimp cracker" is also included. Now, this is the long-awaited first Toyama rice.

Is one white shrimp about 6 to 7 centimeters in length? The white shrimp tempura, which is plump and thick and seems to have nourishment throughout the body, is piled up just like "this is it", and of course you can't see the rice below.

The chopsticks haven't reached the rice yet, so I decided to try only the white shrimp heaven for the time being. Then, in the freshly fried crispy batter, the body of white shrimp, which is soft like a lie, is waiting for you ...!

Although it is crispy and crispy, the inside is fluffy and juicy. Is it okay to have such a luxury? And the fragrant rocky shore flavor that spreads with each bite and the sweetness of shrimp that is accentuated by the saltiness. Ah, this is white shrimp heaven ... Moreover, because the batter is thin, it is less oily, and even if you eat so much, your stomach will not become heavy. It looks like you can go as much as you want.

A considerable amount of white shrimp heaven was spread, and the rice that was finally visible was cooked Koshihikari from Toyama. This is soaked with a lot of sweet and spicy sauce, but since each grain of rice stands firmly and is chewy, it dances lightly in the mouth with white shrimp without becoming bechobecho.

It took about 30 minutes from arriving at Toyama station to getting off the Shinkansen to taking a bite of white shrimp tendon, but I had already fallen in love with Toyama prefecture. It's simple for me. But even in love, to grab the heart of the other person, you say grab your stomach. I experienced the phenomenon for myself.

When you visit Toyama Prefecture, be sure to try Shiroebi Tendon, where you can enjoy the rich nature of Toyama!
