Discover new chilled sweets at FamilyMart somewhere in Tokyo. It is a "sweets burger " that looks delicious from the name. There are two flavors, "pancake" and "tea chiffon", and the price is 198 yen (tax included).


I was attracted to the bright red sticker "NEW" and bought it right away.

Sweets burger pancakes are kiln-baked pancake dough sandwiched with maple sauce and whipped cream. Maple chips are mixed in the dough. On the other hand, the sweets burger black tea chiffon is a moist chiffon dough sandwiched with honey sauce and whipped cream.


Let's start with pancakes.

The dough has a fluffy texture like a shortcake sponge. The thickness of one sheet is about 2 cm, and when you bite it, it has the elasticity to gently push back your teeth. Inside, there is plenty of whipped cream sandwiched in it, and you'll be fascinated by the ephemeral mouthfeel that disappears on your tongue.


A light maple sauce is laid between the dough and the whipped cream. The amount is not very large, but thanks to this and the solid maple chips that are crunchy, the maple flavor remains firmly in the mouth.


On the other hand, the dough for black tea chiffon has a moist texture that contains more water than pancakes. As the tea leaves are kneaded abundantly, the refreshing flavor of black tea spreads in your mouth the moment you eat it. Entangled with plenty of whipped cream in the mouth, it has an elegant and mellow taste like milk tea.


The flavor of black tea is strong, but after swallowing it, the faint scent of honey comes out of your nose. When you close your eyes and close your heart to taste it, you will certainly feel honey, albeit modestly.


By the way, if you cut off the upper half from the opening labeled "OPEN" on the package, you can eat it as it is with one hand. I'm sure the sweets "burger" is here (not to mention the style of sandwiching cream as an ingredient).
