A long-established gourmet brand "Mallorca" that is also a purveyor to the Spanish royal family. As the second store in the world after the main store in Madrid, the only store in Japan is open in Futako Tamagawa Rise. One of the signboard products here is the "Ensimada" introduced this time.


Encimada is a traditional sweet bread from Mallorca, Spain, which means "pork lard". Instead of butter, pork lard is kneaded into the dough and baked, and the surface is crispy and the inside is fluffy.

On the first day of the opening of this encymada, Mallorca (April 24th), it was so popular that it set an amazing record that all 6 flavors were sold out! The production of the product could not catch up with the unexpected situation, and from the next day, only "plain" was sold, but even that was sold out every day. I'm sure I'm not the only one who wasn't able to get it and was frustrated.

From such an encymada, I finally got the information that 3 flavors have been revived! It seems that three kinds of "Naranha", "Tortel" and "Cacao" have reappeared in the store, wife ...!

That's why the Chinese Convolvulus editorial department finally succeeded in obtaining the long-sought Ensimada! I ate a total of 4 flavors and plains that had been sold out for a long time.

● Plain (190 yen / tax not included, same below)

When you bite into it, it has a crispy and light texture like the surface of a browned croissant. The dough inside has a fluffy mouthfeel, and it has elasticity that stretches out and is chewy when chewed.


As I chewed, the unique sweetness that was different from butter began to ooze out! I was a little nervous when I heard that it was lard, but it doesn't look like a kemono. Rather, this rich and rich sweetness is a habit!


● Naranha (260 yen)

A fragrant flavor with orange peel topping on plain fabric encymada. This item is limited to Japan.


The scent of fresh citrus tickles the nose and the mouth is refreshing. It has a slight bitterness of orange peel and is well balanced with the sweet dough. A refreshing taste like the breeze of early summer.


● Tortel (260 yen)

This is the only difference in shape from the others. Flavor baked with Spanish Marcona almond paste wrapped in plain dough. It seems to be a popular product in Spain.


When eaten, the almond paste wrapped in the dough is moisturized and entwined with the tongue, giving it a rich but moderate sweetness. You can enjoy different types of sweetness with the dough and paste. Of the four, I liked this the most!


● Cacao (280 yen)

The cacao flavor with plenty of Belgian chocolate kneaded into the dough and plenty of chocolate chips and cocoa powder on the outside. This is also a product limited to Japan, along with Naranha.


Chocolate is rich no matter where you bite! It melts in the mouth. However, since it is bitter chocolate, there is no dullness. The bittersweet chocolate overlaps with the sweetness of the lard contained in the dough, creating an exquisite sweetness and bitterness.


Currently, Mallorca of Futako Tamagawa Rise is selling the above four flavors. However, a line is formed according to the baking time three times a day, and it may be sold out in less than 10 minutes from the start of sales.

By the way, the baking time is 3 times from 8:00 to 12:00 and 16:00 (may vary depending on the day). In order to get it, I want to stand by before this time as much as possible.

In the future, the remaining two flavors "Crema (rich butter cream sandwich with vanilla flavor)" and "Cranberry (with dried cranberry and smooth cream cheese)", which are still "suspended", will be revived. Also, may new flavors appear in addition to this? There are rumors that, so keep an eye on it!
