"Columba" is a traditional Italian confectionery made to imitate the silhouette of the "dove", a symbol of peace. The dough with plenty of butter and eggs contains orange peel. Almond paste is applied to the toppings and it is baked softly.

Easter, called Easter in English, is Pasqua in Italian. In Italy, as Pasqua approaches, Colomba and chocolate eggs will be displayed in the windows of cake shops and bars.
