Kosojushi "Ghost Sushi" Reprint

Koso Sushi will be offering a reissued version of "Ghost Sushi," a product that was very popular in the 1980s. The first batch will be sold on July 1, 2, 8, and 9, and the second batch from July 29 to August 6. The price is 590 yen (tax included).

Ghost sushi is a local specialty of the Yoshibe region of Yamaguchi Prefecture (present-day Ube City). It is said that the name "ghost sushi" comes from the appearance of the willow leaves on top of the pure white sushi rice. The ghost sushi of Kotobushi is an adaptation of the original, and at the time of its release, it was an "overwhelmingly popular" product, selling approximately 230,000 servings a day.

In this reissued version, the sushi rice, ingredients, and gomoku-shari are layered in three layers. Eleven different kinds of ingredients with different tastes and textures are hidden in the rice, so that customers can enjoy the changing flavors as they continue to eat.
