Starting December 10, LAWSON stores offering the MACHI cafe service will sell a limited number of cups of "Yellow Bourbon" coffee, a rare bean, instead of the usual blended coffee. The price is the same as the blended coffee, 180 yen for medium and 210 yen for large.

Yellow Bourbon is a rare variety of the "Bourbon" variety, known for its high quality, that turns yellow instead of red when ripe. The beans are grown at Ipanema Estate in Brazil, one of the largest single plantations in the world, and are roasted and blended in two different ways, shallow and deep.

It has a nutty aroma and a soft bitterness with a rich sweetness, making it easy to drink even for those who do not like black coffee. The taste has been evaluated as "specialty class" by "Q Grader," an expert who can evaluate the taste of coffee (certified by the Specialty Coffee Association of America).

Members of the "Ponta" point service will receive a 30 yen discount for each coffee, and a 10 yen discount for each coffee if they bring their own tumbler. Lawson hopes to promote the "café-ization of convenience stores" by enhancing the Machicafe service, and hopes to spread new ways to enjoy the service.
