[Tasting] 7-ELEVEN "Uji matcha rice cake supervised by Itohkyuemon" "Uji matcha bavarois supervised by Itohkyuemon" --Bitterness and astringency match sweetness

I tried two kinds of Japanese sweets of 7-ELEVEN, "Uji Matcha Komochi supervised by Itohkyuemon" and "Uji Matcha Babaroa supervised by Itohkyuemon". As the name suggests, these products are accented with bitterness and astringency in addition to the rich matcha aroma.

Similar to " Uji Matcha Crepe Supervised by Itohkyuemon ", this series makes the best use of the flavor of matcha from Uji, Kyoto. It has the characteristics of both Japanese and Western confectionery. I tried to taste it in order.

Uji matcha rice cake

Supervised by Itohkyuemon Uji Matcha Komochi is 183 yen (tax included, same below) and comes in 2 pieces. The calorie is 117 kcal. When you open the bright green wrapping, you will find two small rice cakes that have been dusted in a container.

Even if you put it on a plate, it does not seem to be a matcha flavor at first glance. However, when you insert a knife, you will see matcha cream rather than dark green matcha bean paste. Mochi is quite soft, so be careful when cutting it.

When you taste it, it has a smooth texture and a soft sweetness. And, of course, it has a scent of plump tea. The bitterness and astringency are deep inside, and it makes you feel as if you are drinking matcha at a teahouse. It's a lump, but thanks to the cream, the satisfaction level per piece is high. You can enjoy it even if you share it with two people.

Uji Matcha Bavarian

"Uji Matcha Bavarian Cream supervised by Itohkyuemon" costs 324 yen and has a calorie of 233 kcal. A transparent bowl with plenty of bavarois, red bean paste, and whipped cream.

Rather than eating them separately, it is recommended that you scoop up each of the three colors, green, black, and white, and bring them to your mouth. This is because the matcha flavor of bavarois is very strong, and it has a tea-like flavor, as well as a firm astringency and bitterness.

Rather than eating only bavarois, it is better to put it on your tongue with whipped cream, which has a deep sweetness and aroma of azuki beans, and a fluffy milky whipped cream.

Both Uji Matcha Komochi and Uji Matcha Babaroa are creamy and rich, so the drink is clean and straight, with no bitterness or astringency, for example, barley tea.
