Strawberry Jam Recipe

Ingredients

300g (10.58oz) strawberries
150g (5.29oz) granulated sugar (or sugar)
Lemon juice to taste

Also, prepare an airtight container (such as an empty jar) in which you can store the jam.

Wash strawberries in cold water, blot dry with kitchen paper, and remove the stems.

Mix strawberries, granulated sugar, and lemon juice in a saucepan, and let stand naturally for at least 1 hour. It is even better if you leave them overnight.

When the water from the strawberries has evaporated, bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat. Bring to a boil, remove any scum and reduce heat to low. Cook down until thickened, stirring gently from time to time with a wooden spoon to prevent burning.

Rinse well, sterilize by boiling, and pack into jars or other containers that have been thoroughly dried.

How does homemade strawberry jam taste?

Strawberry jam is cooked until tender, and its sweetness and moderate acidity are concentrated in a well-balanced manner. The crunchy pulpy texture of the strawberries is still there, giving it a natural taste. It is a delight to eat on a piece of crispy toast with a generous amount of butter and strawberry jam.

The key to making jam is not to rush. You need to wait for the strawberries to release their moisture, but the process itself is very simple, so try it in your spare time.
