A must-try for Kikyo Shingen mochi fans! Shingen Gunbai Kuromitsu Kinako" - Kuromitsu flavored marshmallow sandwiched in a kinako-scented sable!

Kikyoya "Shingen Gunbai Kuromitsu Kinako

At an antenna store in Tokyo, I found "Shingen Gunbai Kuromitsu Kinako" by Kikyouya! I actually bought and tried it. The price starts at 700 yen (tax not included) for a pack of 5.

The "Shingen Gunbai Kuromitsu Kinako" is a moist, kinako (soybean flour) kneaded, military-shaped sable sandwiched between marshmallows with Kuromitsu, the well-known ingredient in Kikyo Shingen mochi (rice cake). This guimauve sandwich spreads the flavors of kinako and kuromitsu.

The thick sable is crispy and flaky. The thick sable is crispy and fluffy, and the savory aroma of soybean flour spreads softly. The mashed marshmallow sandwiched between the two is also a perfect match. This sweet is a blend of Japanese and Western sweets, and is recommended to be enjoyed with green tea or even black tea.

Crunchy sablet is delicious~!

You can also toaster them if you like, or chill or freeze them in the fridge or freezer! Especially when lightly warmed in the toaster, the marshmallows will be melted, fluffy, and smooth. A little bit of effort will give you a different taste.

The Shingen Gunkai Kuromitsu Kinako (black honey soybean flour) from Kikyouya looks cute and comes individually wrapped, making it a perfect souvenir. In addition to kuromitsu, they also sell guimauve sandwiches flavored with shiny muscat. It would be fun to compare them.
