Yokohama Kawori is a French cuisine and confectionery restaurant. We tried the store's best-selling "Raisin Sandwich" and "Cranberry Sandwich. The price is 777 yen (tax included) for a pack of five.
Raisin Sandwich
California raisins generously soaked in premium brandy and cream are sandwiched between homemade cookies made with high-quality butter.
The cookie has a firm texture. It is not the type that crumbles and falls apart, but rather a moderately chewy "old-fashioned cookie. You can feel the aroma of baked sweets.
There are plenty of raisins inside. The raisins are crunchy and juicy sweet. The brandy flavor is not that strong, with just a hint of aftertaste. The richness of the cream, which melts smoothly, is very rich.
Cranberry Sandwich
Cranberries soaked thoroughly in fine kirschwasser and creamed with couverture chocolate are sandwiched between cocoa-flavored homemade cookies.
This one is chocolate flavor.
Every time you bite into a cranberry, you will be overwhelmed by the refreshing tartness of the cranberry. The chocolate envelops them. The cookie is also cocoa flavored and has a sense of unity. The taste was more bitter than I had imagined.
Both the raisin and cranberry sandwiches are very satisfying thanks to their firm texture and the large amount of raisins and cranberries in them. They will keep for about two weeks at room temperature, so they are recommended as souvenirs from Yokohama.
