Château Raisin" by Châteaise

Chateraise offers a wide variety of products from western and Japanese confectionery to bread and wine. Here we introduce "Chateau Raisin," a confectionery created to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the company's founding.

Chateraise "Chateau Raisin

Château Raisin" means "castle of grapes" in French, and is said to be the origin of the company name Château Raisin. This raisin sandwich is the culmination of the techniques and thoughts that have been cultivated over many years of pastry making. Priced at 120 yen per piece, the six-pack is 820 yen (tax not included).

Sable dough sandwiches cream with two kinds of raisins. The small golden raisins are soaked in brandy, white rum, and grape spirits, while the large flame seedless raisins are soaked in barrel-aged white wine and green apple wine directly from the company's affiliated winery. The cream is made with Belgian couverture white chocolate and Hokkaido butter.

How does Chateraise taste?

The sable dough is crispy when you bite into it, but crumbles when you bite into it. The smooth cream melts with a deep richness. The buttery aroma that escapes through your nose is luxurious!

Two kinds of raisins are so juicy! The fresh sweetness that bursts forth is perfectly balanced with the savory sablefish and rich cream. The subtle aroma of liquor leaves a rich aftertaste. The taste is so satisfying that you will want to eat another piece.

Chateraise's signature raisin sandwiches also feature raisins soaked in sake that change in flavor as they mature over time. With a shelf life of about two weeks, it would be a good idea to eat one first and let the rest sit for a while before eating.
