Adults compare curry for children! Six types of curry for children: Anpanman Curry, Curry no Oji-sama, Kamen Rider Jio Curry, Precure Curry, Yokai Watch Curry, and Pokémon Curry.

Comparing curry for children with curry for adults

Recently, I noticed that curry for children is delicious. When I reviewed a sauce that turns sweet curry into mildly spicy curry, I was surprised to find that it tasted even better than I expected, since I hadn't had it for years....

So this time, in order to discover the best curry for children, I bought six types of curry (retort) that were only available at my local supermarket!

Anpanman Curry (Nagatanien)
Curry no Oji-sama (S&B)
Kamen Rider Jio Curry (Marumiya)
Pretty Cure Curry (Marumiya)
Specter Watch Curry (Nagatanien)
Pokémon Curry (Marumiya)

Having eaten these as an adult, I would like to announce the top three that I think were particularly delicious.

No. 3 Anpanman Curry

A curry that can be eaten from around one year old, when baby food is finished. The flavor is "Pork Amakuchi with 7 kinds of vegetables. Since it is intended for small children, it comes in two 50g (1.76oz) bags per person.

This is for one person.

One bite and... yum! It contains finely cut onions, potatoes, and meat like minced meat, and you can feel the umami from the ingredients rather than the sweetness. It's not sweet, but rather has the umami flavor of the ingredients.

No. 2 Kamen Rider Jio Curry

Pork and vegetable curry with a sweet taste. This is also a miniature size, with two 60g (2.12oz) bags per serving. This size is good for dipping bread or vegetables.

The taste is close to Anpanman Curry. The thick curry roux has a good amount of umami from the meat and sweetness from the vegetables. It is full of ingredients such as finely cut potatoes, carrots, pumpkin, and green asparagus.

No.1 Pokémon Curry

160g (5.64oz) per person. Supposed to be for children who have grown up a little. One Pokémon sticker is enclosed, which is a fun little lottery sensation.

With Pokémon stickers

Curry with a slight yellowish tinge

YUM! Slightly larger cuts of crunchy vegetables, crispy, sweet and juicy corn, and kalerou that soaks up the umami of the meat. It's not spicy, but the taste is enough to satisfy even adults.

I've just realized that "sweet" curry doesn't mean sweet, it means "not spicy". Curry that is not spicy is also good...

In addition, the retort curries mentioned here are all made to be delicious even without heating. You can easily eat them in hot summer or when you don't have much time without worrying about getting burned, and you can keep them in stock for emergency use.

The next three curries that didn't make it to the top three were also delicious, so I'd like to leave a review for them.

Prince of Curry

It is filled with small cut carrots, sweet potatoes, potatoes, and dates. It has a bit of a savory depth to it. It's like a keema curry with lots of minced meat and not too spicy.

Precure Curry

A curry for children who have grown up a little. It is filled with slightly large potatoes and carrots. The sweetness and crunchiness of the corn is something you just don't get in an adult curry!

Yokai Watch Curry

This is also for grown-up children. It looks just as spicy and colorful as the curry for adults, and it has a lot of ingredients. But of course, it's not spicy. It may leave a little retort-like taste.
