MUJI will sell three new products in its "Curry with the best ingredients" series of retort pouch curries: "Curry with the best ingredients: Hamburger steak in demi-glace sauce," "Curry with the best ingredients: Scallop and shrimp bisque curry," and "Curry with the best ingredients: Chicken tikka masala. They will go on sale on August 31, and will be available at the MUJI online store from September 1.
MUJI has released more than 50 kinds of retort curries based on world tastes learned in authentic places and home tastes. This time, MUJI paid special attention to the sauce, adding cream and butter to create a rich, mild curry.
The "Ingredients-Based Hamburger Curry with Demi-glace Sauce" and "Ingredients-Based Scallop and Shrimp Bisque Curry" are modeled after Western-style restaurant curries and are packed with the delicious flavors of seafood and meat. The "Curry with the Best Ingredients: Chicken Tikka Masala" is modeled after an Indian curry that originated in the U.K., and features the savory flavor of fried onions, the acidity of yogurt, and the richness of cumin.
MUJI's retort curry is classified into seven levels, from the least hot (0 spicy) to the hottest (6 spicy), with the hotness of the chili pepper indicated on the package. While many of the products are relatively spicy, the three new products are all less than 2 spicy, making them easy for people who do not like spicy food and children to eat.
