Awaodori Sable" at Hirose Bakery, Koenji
Hirose Bakery is located about a two-minute walk from JR Koenji Station. It is a historic bakery that has been in business since 1925.
At this bakery, we found an "Awaodori sable," which is unique to Koenji where the "Tokyo Koenji Awaodori Dance" is held. Prices start at 432 yen (tax included) for a pack of five.
The simple package is bright pink with an illustration of a dancer printed on it. The sable is also engraved with the same illustration of a dancer.
The first bite may seem hard, but as you chew it, it gradually becomes addictive as it crumbles in your mouth.
The ingredients for the overall milky sablet are very simple: flour, sugar, eggs, butter, cream, expander, and sweetened condensed milk. This is a product that will be loved by people of all ages and genders.
The texture is more crunchy than crispy
A large piece of "Awaodori Sable" is very satisfying, and since Hirose Bakery is open until 24:00 (as of 2017), you can visit the bakery even if you forget to buy a souvenir. If you are in need of a souvenir, try this bakery.
