McDonald's "Hon no Happy Set" to be released on October 20

will appear in McDonald's "Hon no Happy Set": "Shigeru Mizuki's Yokai Zukan" (illustrated book) and "Hinachan and Little Friends" (picture book). Prices start at 490 yen including tax (prices differ at some stores and for delivery).

Mini-illustrated book "Shigeru Mizuki's Specter Puzzle

In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Shigeru Mizuki, the well-known author of "Gegege no Kitaro," a collaboration with Happy Set has been realized. This is a McDonald's original miniature illustrated book containing a total of over 60 yokai drawn by Shigeru Mizuki.


In the mini illustrated book, Kitaro, the guide, introduces the ecology and secrets of various yokai drawn by Shigeru Mizuki, from familiar yokai such as "Nurikabe," "Ichikankiwomen," "Kasagakure," and "Gashadoro," to maniac yokai from various regions. In addition, the "Smash Phone (and Sound!)" feature, a device that makes yokai jump out of the screen using AR technology, will be on display! And sound!) Pop-up! When you use your smartphone to read the yokai in the illustrated book with the AR mark, the crying grandpa, azuki-warai, and other yokai pop out from the illustrated book, speak, make sounds, and move as if they were really there.

In addition, for the first time in Happy Set, a trial campaign for the "coemo" (sold by Takara Tomy), a speaker that reads aloud to children, is being rolled out. After downloading the app and reading a simple script and registering your voice, you can enjoy reading "Hinachan and Little Friends" to your child in a voice synthesized by AI to sound just like you.

It is also possible to change the main character of the picture book to the child's name. The application frees up both hands so you can touch each other while listening to the story together, or relax by listening to the story with your child.
