Starting September 22, Kura Sushi will hold a special "Support Japanese Fishery" campaign to support Japanese fishermen as part of the "Kura no Ippin Series". The first item in the campaign is a "Japanese Thick Scallop" made from scallops caught in Japan. The price is 280 yen.

As a company that handles a large number of marine products against the backdrop of declining seafood catches in Japan, Kuraray Sushi has been focusing on efforts to create a fishing industry, and the "Natural Fish Project," launched in 2010, is a program to purchase fish caught directly at fishing ports and deliver them through a unique route to ensure that fresh and abundant domestic The project aims to provide natural fish at a lower price and tastier sushi ingredients, while stabilizing the income of fishermen and achieving coexistence and co-prosperity.

Through this initiative, we are currently promoting direct transactions with 116 fishing ports and fishermen's cooperatives throughout Japan. In April of this year, after 13 years, we introduced the "Kura no Ippin Series," utilizing the network cultivated through the "Natural Fish Project.

The "Kura no Ippin Series" divides the nation into 22 groups, and local fish caught in each region is processed at the processing plant in charge of that region and served at each restaurant in that region. This "jizakana jishoku" (local fish and local food) initiative allows customers to enjoy the "seasonal local fish" of each region, and we believe that it also helps to support local fishermen.

We believe that now is the time to rediscover the attractiveness of

marine products, and we hope to support Japan's fishermen as much as possible by offering locally caught marine products at all Kura Sushi restaurants nationwide. The "Domestic Thick Scallops (Consistent)" made from scallops caught in Japan will be on sale. The scallops, which are so large that they cover the rice, are soft, sweet, and very satisfying, and have become less and less available due to recent price increases.
