POKKA SAPPORO FOOD & BEVERAGE will introduce a carbonated beverage, Okinawa Shikwasa Soda. According to POKKA SAPPORO, this drink was created for the summer season, when demand for citrus flavors increases, because the prolonged Corona disaster has reduced tourism demand in Okinawa Prefecture, as well as demand for souvenirs and food service, and demand for Okinawa's representative fruit, the shikwasa, is also in a severe condition.

POKKA SAPPORO FOOD & BEVERAGE will release Okinawa Shikwasa Soda, a carbonated beverage, in 420ml (14.2us fl oz) PET bottles nationwide from July 4 at an estimated price of 140 yen (excluding tax).

According to POKKA SAPPORO, the prolonged Corona disaster has reduced tourism demand in Okinawa Prefecture, as well as demand for souvenirs and food service, and demand for Okinawa's representative fruit, shikwasa, has also been declining. The drink is characterized by the use of a rare fruit that is registered as a regional collective trademark "Okinawa Shikwasa," which has a unique aroma and sour taste. The juice is squeezed from the whole fruit, skin and all, by a POKKA SAPPORO group company, and the aroma of the ingredients is enhanced.

The flavor and sweet and sour taste of shikwasa, which is handpicked one by one, can be enjoyed with the package that is designed to look like the blue sky of Okinawa. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the "Shuri Castle History and Culture Inheritance Fund" to help with the reconstruction of Shuri Castle.
