MUJI Uji Green Tea Cake

Uji Matcha Cake is a chilled sweet sold at select MUJI stores. It uses stone-ground Uji matcha green tea, which has a rich aroma and bright color.


Approximately 9 cm in diameter (for 1-2 servings), priced at 350 yen (tax included). The included tray can also be used as a plate by cutting the four corners by hand.

I tried Uji green tea cake.

Two layers of matcha cake. The upper layer is a terrine-like cake made of matcha and chocolate. It melts thickly, giving the cake a rich matcha flavor with a slight astringency.


The lower tier is a simple sponge. Its fluffy texture and gentle flavor are in good balance with the rich matcha part! It is a great complement to the matcha flavor, preventing the taste and texture from becoming monotonous.
